used soldering irons for more than 50 years but this one is truly for the 20th century.

Very good this iron. I’m impressed all round with this. The digital display, if accurate, is brilliant. It shows the current temperature and counts up when you turn it on then if you increase or decrease the temp then it shows the target then flashes then back to the current temp and it counts up or down until it hits the target, as I said if it is accurate then it’s really good. It heats up fast too, faster than most others I’ve used and also showing the temp let’s you know exactly when you can use it. The only negative is the buttons, they work fine but feel flimsy and cheaply made, they let down the iron as the rest of it it good. You can change the tips for different shapes which is good, you remove the screw nut and the outer sheath then there is a nut to undo with the provided mini spanner to release the tip.The solder and holder with sponge are bog standard and what you get with most irons. The solder is 0.6mm so good for small wire joins or circuitry.Using the iron is nice, the small rubber sleeve at the end of the handle work remarkably well and makes it more comfortable to hold and relax your hand to work with as opposed to a smooth plastic that gets slippery when you get hot fingers.Over all this is a decent soldering iron with a very useful display, in this price range I would definitely recommend this, I’ve had a dozen over the years around this price and this is my favourite so far.

Only used it once to solder a new handle onto a walking stick that I have made...It was great to use and worked perfectly for what I required. This is a very nice little kit but it would have been an excellent set if only it had come in a nice little toolbox or wrap to keep it in!At under £19 this little kit is a total bargain!

I have never seen a variable temperature soldering iron before with all the electronics built into the handle including an LED (not LCD) display. My first check as ever was the fuse in the plug which is 3 amp which is correct. The metalwork / tip of the iron is connected to the earth pin of the mains plug which also is good (should it malfunction).Power on or off with a long press of the power button and it defaults to 350c but you can change this with the + and - buttons. My only moan is the sponge for the stand is a little on the thin side even after you have made it damp (I am not easy to please).Comes with a supply of solder which seems to flow okay (tinned some cable ends) and a range of tips (with spanner if needed). How they fitted all the works in the handle I do not know!

Although early in my career, I used to weild a soldering iron on a daily basis, I now just need something for occasional repairs and to tin the odd wire. This iron is probably over the top for my needs, but it is supplied with everything the occasional user will need, spare tips, some soolder and a sponge, a basic stand and a small spanner. It would have been nice if it was supplied in a case of tool roll, but not enough of a problem to mark down. The one really useful feature is the adjustable heat dial and the temp display. Perfect for knowing when it is ready for use.

I had a soldering iron that has a dial to control the temperature but sometimes it is difficult to see the current temperature and I thought it will be handy to have a digital display especially to heat up gun for quick jobs. I was surprised how quickly this gun heats up. The LCD display is crisp and it is extremely easy to adjust the temperature. It comes with a soldering iron stand with a clean sponge, 5 soldering iron tips, solder wire, soldering paste, a small wrench, and a manual. It is perfect for any soldering job.

Very good for £17. A good range of tips and the 90W consumption gets you to set point quickly. Not sure how long it will last, so take care of it.

Ordered this Soldering Iron Kit to do some circuitboard soldering and this was the deal available with vine. This covers all the things you need to do some basic soldering jobs. The iron itself works ok, with the flexibility to turn the iron of and on using a switch and a temp gauge to change the temperature which not many starter soldering irons don't have. The kit includes various materials such as;1x Soldering iron stand with clean sponge ( Just wish the stand was a physical stand instead of a small one to hold the entire iron)1x Digital display electric soldering iron(UK Plug)5x Soldering iron tips1x Solder wire1x Soldering paste1xSmall wrench1x ManualThe mains cable is not that long but its enough to work with, would be better with a longer cable for flexibility with the movement.

My old soldering iron must be 12 years old now and whilst it still works OK, it doesn't compare with this one.First of all the temperature control is an extremely useful element as far as I am concerned. My old one could get very hot (when it felt like it) and do more damage than repair work. This new one is almost luxurious by comparison. The extra soldering tips are a boon too. It means you can work on very small areas easily simply by using a small pointed one. On larger, easier to get to areas the large flatter one is best. The digital read out of the actual temperature is worth the money alone, as it acts as a fail safe device for when you might be using it on very delicate equipment. The little stand is useful too, as it means (for me) no more burnt bits on the table, or melted plastic from the table covering. One final point, the reel of solder that comes with it is of a very good quality, being lead free and ready to goOverall I am impressed.

I have only used the soldering kit for a couple of minor jobs, but it has done an excellent job. My first job was my sons laptop what a graphics card chip had come loose and would no longer produce an image. I want sure soldering would work but I was delighted when the laptop screen powered on.The soldering kit is comprehensive but can be a little overwhelming if it is your first time using a soldering iron as there are a lot of options. I therefore watched a number of Youtube videos before I started and I was able to get the correct temperature which seems to be key to a successful solder, too hot and you can fry the elements you are wanting to solder. The 2nd job was to solder a lamp that a had a loose wire, which also was a success. The soldering iron does heat up remarkably quickly, although I have no frame of reference having not use one before. All the tools are kept nice and compact in the storage bag.

In the set I got a digital temperature controlled iron, a set of different tips, a holder, a spanner for changing the tips and a roll of solder. It comes in a cardboard box.It is very simple to use. Plug in and hold the power button to turn it on then use the up and down buttons to select the temperature. The iron heats up quickly and seems to maintain the temperature very well. It has a reasonably powerful heating element so is suitable for soldering bigger terminals and switches which can pull the heat from less powerful irons. Despite being powerful the iron is quite light and easy to control.Overall I am very impressed. This kit is certainly excellent to get the novice into the electronics hobby or to have in the shed in case you need to repair stuff around the house.
