I bought this to melt holes into tubs for my pet tarantulas and does the job perfectly, much easier than forcing something sharp through without cracking the plastic or stabbing yourself.

I have a light blue colour Weller 100w and was looking for another but then saw this and thought I would try it. Very impressed, the start up time is ultra fast, temperature control works great for those hard to solder metals and comes with a good range of heads.

Works as described. One tip, I saw a few other people make it glow white, to be honest it's a soldering iron, not a welder. 350 C is more than enough for your little project. I see no reason to bring it above 400 C. However above 380 C starts to feel as if it's going to melt in your hand.

This maybe biased, I work with professional irons and this is not close, but for some basic pcb repairs it does the job at an incredible price, you need to experiment a little with the temperature but once set its fine. How long it will last ? Note this is a low power iron, great for small pcb jobs but it will not work on heavy gauge cables.

This is a great little soldering kit, with all the bits and bats you need to get started. I already have a few soldering irons, so I got this to gift to a friend who's rebuilding his Telecaster guitar. He was very chuffed, and tells me it's doing the job perfectly.
